Post-Hair Transplant Care Guide
Proper aftercare is crucial for achieving the best results from your hair transplant. Following these guidelines will maximise graft survival and ensure optimal growth.
First 48 Hours
- Sleep with head elevated at 45 degrees
- Do not touch, scratch, or rub the transplanted area
- Apply saline spray every 30-60 minutes to keep grafts moist
- Take prescribed medications (antibiotics, pain relief, anti-swelling)
First Week
Begin gentle hair washing on day 3 as instructed by your clinic. Pat dry gently - never rub. Avoid direct sunlight and wear a loose hat when outdoors. No exercise or strenuous activity.
Weeks 2-4
Scabs will naturally fall off during washing. You may notice transplanted hairs falling out - this is normal shock loss. Sleep normally. Light exercise can resume after week 2.
Months 1-12
- Month 1-3: Dormant phase - be patient
- Month 4-6: New growth begins emerging
- Month 6-9: Significant visible improvement
- Month 12+: Final results visible
