Understanding BMI
BMI is calculated by dividing your weight in kilograms by your height in metres squared. Categories: Under 18.5 (underweight), 18.5-24.9 (normal), 25-29.9 (overweight), 30-34.9 (class I obesity), 35-39.9 (class II obesity), 40+ (class III obesity).
Eligibility Criteria
- BMI 40+: Eligible for all bariatric procedures
- BMI 35-39.9: Eligible with obesity-related conditions (diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnoea)
- BMI 30-34.9: May be eligible for gastric balloon or sleeve with comorbidities
- BMI 27-29.9: Eligible for gastric balloon
Additional Requirements
